Too bad I ain't in Michigan - I really want one of those cases.

Rare bird , no affiliation , Jerry Jones six string Longhorn bass !
Here's a deal for everyone - oddly its been listed for six months.
Worst part is, the poster clearly knows what they have and what its worth but have worded it just right to not get flagged.
Danelectro Longhorn Short Scale Bass in black with Tweed HSC
Did they have poorly mounted bridges or danelectro floating bridges which are admittedly crude and if your not used to them may seem wrongly mounted, but are not only perfectly functional, but part of the sound and feel of the design?Ok this seems like the perfect place for this: I always wanted a Longhorn but the ones I tried around 1999-2000 at Sam Ash had serious QC problems, about every one of them had poor mounted bridges and the overall craftsmanship was sub par. Is there a specific model that doesn't have these issues?
I'll say, asking double the going rate. But I actually wouldn't have picked on them if it was only an inflated price, but the mildly misleading language hinting that bit might be an original from the fifties was what bothered me... Buyers should know what they're getting into, but sometimes people buy gifts for loved ones...I doubt that he's in a rush to sell it .
Nice point GC are notorious for not bothering with fixing something like a mispositioned bridges... Never assume the setupmin the store isvat all indicative of the instrument's actual quality. Both my Danelectro basses have had bridge issues. The one I bought new had been jarred in shipping, and the bridge was off its screws. I fixed it in a few minutes.
On both, the bridge plates bent because they were made of sub-par metal. I replaced one, and the other is still playable.
The one I replaced the bridge on is now my second-favorite bass.
They have quirks, but the quirks are just quirks. And plenty of people decide to replace something on their expensive new Fender for worse reasons.
That's AWESOME! As I said before - I've wanted to do that very thing for years now - but having the money even for a couple of Danos to part out has been out of the question for about a decade (went back to University and started a new career, blah, blah, blah... that should be ending soon).Almost done. I just need to wire it up and adjust the pickup height and put flats on it. Well, and paint it, eventually. Or maybe I'll never get around to painting it. That's not unlikely.
The pickguard probably will lose the point above the bridge pickup. I haven't decided whether to do the standard Dano Pro shape there, or to do it a little different and add a thumb rest.

That's AWESOME!
I love the blade switch too - much more retro looking than a conventional Toggle
Oh, I know - but the effect of the blade is more retro - he is building something that never actually existed. When Danelectro used switches on the originals, they were toggles.
Here's a picture of some soldier playing an original toggled Dano U2:
