The U2 is probably a better made instrument than this one, but I love it anyway.
Yeah, having both I can say without too much flack that it the early Koreans are definitely better than that era of Chinese ones - the new Koreans seem pretty great too. But the difference isn't all that great - it's just the matte finish which makes them feel cheaper than they are.

Within 24 hours a set of Fender VI and Hofner short scale strings arrived for the Wild Thing.
Had a heck of a time changing strings, almost thought about buying the replacement bridge :D
Went with the Fenders and I'm very pleased with them.
Only set up change was rise the E/A side of the bridge and slacken the grub screw on the rosewood so it
was easier to correct intonation. It's off by about 1-2% after the 12th,that I can live with

The PG had been damaged around the jack socket, think excessive force was used removing the lead and
cracked the PG. Repair was to cover the whole thing with black film but that hides the great contours of
the bass so think I'll pinstripe round the edges.

Only regret is not playing a Dano years ago.

Longhorn 1.jpg
Well, it's taken me a while, as I've been fighting with new-to-me photo editing software (and, mostly losing); but, here is my latest Dano, getting used to it's new case. I got the Longhorn from Adirondack Music last summer (?), and the case I got with it was... OK, for a generic guitar case, but AFAIC, barely adequate. So, last payday, I put it in the case my Epiphone EA-250 guitar lives in (which fit the Dano pretty darn well), and took it to the local Sam Ash. A very helpful young fellow brought out case after case from the back, and...voila!! This is the case for the new Epiphone ES-339. Not perfect, but very close. So, I think we're both happy...
