In the original, made-in-NewJersey Danelectros, there was a steel rod in the neck; so yes, technically it was a truss rod. It was not accessible or adjustable, however; not like we think of a truss rod today. The Korean and Chinese reissues do have an adjustable truss rod, but you have to take the neck off (at least, on my Korean DC Pro basses) to do it. Original Danos were never offered in a lefty, either; which is why mine are MIK reissues. Would love to have an original lefty Longhorn, but...:scowl:
