I had an early natural finished one a while back. FYI.
It was brutally heavy, but the tone was wonderful.
Like I need another bass.

I used the T40 I had once at a longer rehearsal and my shoulder was sore.
I even had a neoprene strechy strap.

Although, now that I've played more bass (was a guitar player), I could probably handle it.

Are the solid color T-40s any lighter?

I don't know about that, but my natural T-40 only weighs about 9 1/2 pounds. Guess I'm just lucky!

After reading about early Peaveys, I snaped up this Fury for almost nothing. Unfortunately I am spending almost as much on the repairs as I did the bass.

Oh well, here's the vision for the Fury...which weighs 7.5 pounds.

This is your most honest reply.. all the mojo with better playability.

T20s aren't loved as they were promoted as a starter bass (with better electronics and hardware than any fender I've owned)

My T40 sounded amazing. It did a dead on RIC and P bass tone and was approx $200.

Problem..... It weighed 13+lbs. Absolutely insane weight.
