I guess this is my summer for listening to Rock and Pop from when I was a kid. I was just listening to the song and watching this performance on YouTube. Ann Wilson's voice was so high, clear, and powerful, although she sings a very different style, it made me think about the power of Aretha Franklin's voice on her Muscle Shoals recordings. As a near senior citizen, I think I appreciate young voice power in a way I did not when I was young and just hearing these songs on the radio. I also enjoy just seeing the energy and joy radiating from Ann Wilson as she is performing

I know she can sing, but she sounds like the mature woman she is these days. I was feeling nostalgia for the young Ann, bouncing around and effortlessly hitting all of those high notes.

Check out the live tracks on their Greatest Hits album (the 1980 one). She belts it on "Bebe le Strange", "Tell It Like It Is", "Mistral Wind", "Sweet Darlin'", "I'm Down/Long Tall Sally" and Zep's "Rock & Roll". Amazing.

Seriously, I'm tempted to look through my stacks of records to see who produced Barracuda and Magic Man.

Those songs sounded soooo good on any radio, any record player, any tape player.... and still do to this day.

I've NEVER turned the dial when Barracuda has come on the radio, and in all likelihood I never will. The song flat out rocks.

Apparently the members of Nazareth were choked at Heart for borrowing the riff from "This flight tonight" for Barracuda. Their version of the song was a cover of Joni Mitchell's original.

What the heck. They both had hits didn't they?

Huge Ann and Nancy fan.

I always thought that all these years that JY Page has been angling around to try to get Robert Plant to tour as Led Zep once more (of course, JYP, IF years ago you had included your other three bandmates as full share members, you might have long since been there), he could have easily used JP Jones and Jason Bonham, and added Nancy and Ann to go out as a tour with a heavily Zep-based set and Heart hits as well. Ann could have easily sang Robert's part (excluding some testosterone-laced sturm und drang like 'The Lemon Song'), and Nancy would have been a great second guitarist behind Jimmy. Oh well . . . . . .

I've seen Heart in concert 3 times over the past 20 years... they flat out rock including owning "the Best Show I've ever seen".

Circa 2012ish, they played at the outdoor amphitheater at San Diego State University. Opening for them was Jason Bonham's Led Zep Tribute. Jason killed of course, playing a solid set of Zep tunes. Heart comes out and proceeds to play through more than 90 minutes of hits, sounding better than ever.

What put it over the top? For the encore, Ann and Nancy appear on stage to do their Battle of Evermore version posted a bit earlier. THEN... Jason joins them along with Hearts guitar player and bassist and the group proceeds to rock through another 45 min of the biggest Zep tunes ever (Stairway, Rock and Roll, etc) — Jason hadn't played them (didn't need to really, Zep has so much material). It was amazing.
