Dark stages - what to do?

Last night I was standing in the shadows ......and I don't mean Mowtown. My area of the stage was so dark that I had a hard time seeing the inlay side dots on my bass. I have a maple neck with rosewood board. Therefore I made a few mistakes because I could not tell where I was on the neck. What do you guys recommend? (I know. Practice so I don't have to look at the neck. But I do occasionally usually at the start of a song.)

The only good use I ever found for glitter was some of my daughter's red glitter fingernail polish. The dots are big enough to be seen easily in most light and in low light the glitter is reflective. Cheap and long lasting, had these on for a couple years and no need to redo them yet. Before and after shot with my two Bronco necks, both are done now.

I use "French Tip" nail polish on my Pedulla which is difficult to see at the best of times. A dot of the polish on the existing side markers and done. They have been there for a decade.
