Dark Star and Rick in Squier VM fretless?

I have a Squier VM fretless Jazz that I like playing. I also have two spare pickups lying around: a Dark Star and a Rickenbacker toaster. I'm toying with the idea of putting the Dark Star in the neck position and the toaster at the bridge.

Pros:
I love the sound of the Dark Star
Dark Star needs a home (in one of MY basses, sorry nfs)
I tend to favor the neck pu on the fretless anyway
Don't really like the jazz bridge sound
It's a fairly 'cheap bass' to mod, but solid

Cons:
Nothing too wrong with the fretless as it is
Looks cool as it is
Sounds pretty good as it is
Both pickups will require routing, so there's no going back

I don't mind too much that the pickups will have different outputs, since I liked the Dark Star at the neck position in its previous home. I see the Toaster as adding a secondary flavor.

What do you think? Should I do it? Is there a different configuration I should consider? Am I putting lipstick on a pig? Any thoughts?
