Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

Woof. Yeah skimming thru I'm pretty sure he got the order wrong. I heard him say the reverse order several times

Of course the placement is all personal, but he clearly thought the signal was running right to left. Sort of an interesting experiment I suppose

Requiring tremendous patience, all to save $300 🥴 🤷‍♂️

Is there a Pultec EQ on the Anagram? There should be one. I’ve got Pultec inspired plugin in my DAW, it works really well to do the « Pultec Trick », it would be great to have that on the Anagram.
There's a bunch of Lowrider pedal captures on QC which I use lots. Its all that sort of stuff that is the biggest barrier to jumping ship to the Anagram for me, an actual pultec eq block would be great though!

The Pultec trick can likely be achieved with either of the EQ blocks or the global EQ. Boost down low and cut just above the boost. That’s all there is to the actual EQ moves of the trick.
I thought there was a little more nuance to it but worth a try to get close. Either way just having a block that recreates it without tweaking multiple blocks would be ideal.

Both boost and cut on a Pultec centered at 100hz (in this case, but probably most bassists might choose the 60Hz frequency?). The dip happens quite a bit higher than the center frequency due to the way the two curves interact. It kinda looks like boost is a shelving type filter while cut is a peaking/notch filter?

There’s not much more to it than a low frequency boost followed by a cut at a higher frequency. The knob labels on the actual Pultec EQP-1A make it look more esoteric than it actually is. The physical hardware unit imparts a bit of color as well, but the essence of the trick is really as simple as described above. It should be possible with a single EQ block or the global EQ. The curves and Q factor of the available EQs within the Anagram probably won’t match exactly what an EQP-1A does, but in practice it hardly matters. You’re boosting lows and then cutting right after to avoid having the added low end sound bloated in the upper bass and lower midrange, which can sound muddy/cloudy in many mixes and environments.

There is this EQP-1A NAM capture you can try out, but just on those settings tho

I just received mine a couple of days ago. Between yesterday and I got to spend some time with it. First off the tuner is very good and will be very readable in a live setting. Originally I set up my first preset right to left. I didn’t realize that it was wrong until I saw a post that said that it should be left to right. It sounded a whole lot better left to right. I owned a Quad Cortex some time back but could never bond with it. This thing is much easier to navigate and sounds great. For my use I’m gonna set up 3 to 6 presets to use live. Switching back and forth looks real easy and quick.
