Darkglass Element - Providing headphone out to non-headphone amp (OB1-500 or other)

Has anyone tried using the Element to "add" a headphone out, by running it from the line out of a non-headphone amp? I am wondering if this type of thing will work and how good it will sound. I'm essentially trying to get the most out of my OB1-500 head.

You can use the DI XLR out to a female 1/4" or 1/8" (stereo, not mono) plug to receive your headphones, like I've done (or IEMs if you are savvy to those, unlike me). I purchased an adapter online, you just need to make sure the female part of the plug is stereo so you hear it through both ears.
My Carvin BX1500 has a level control on the XLR out that isn't affected by the master on the front but you could just use whatever level is being sent to the XLR out if this is just for the times of home/studio headphone use.
