Darkglass microtubes BK3, Should I buy it?

Hello There!
I need a huge overdrive sound to play death metal. I would get a "Erlend Caspersen" bass tone and I've noticed that he uses a BK7 in his last video.
I saw a cheaper and more basic version of the BK7 called BK3 on the music store and I think that is enough for me.

What do you think about this pedal? Is it right to play this?

Both pedals are fantastic. The B7K adds an EQ section and a DI, but other than that they are pretty much identical. The only pedal I found that was better than the B3K was the B7K. The EQ section really brings the magic. You can't go wrong either way really, but if the B7K is in the budget it's worth the extra.

I've just plumped for the b7k, after reading plenty of threads and reviews I thought that it would be worth spending the extra cash. It should make it easier to dial in the exact sound and make it a much more versatile pedal. It can be used as a DI and the EQ section can also be used without any distortion.

#2, #3 Thanks for answer! I find the Tech 21 Sansamp DI too, It's less expensive than the B7K and is similar(DI box, Eq...) I have read some good reviews and a lot of players use it. Which is the best of these 3 for you? It woud be worth paying more cash for the B7k?

I like the SansAmp pedals, including the Bass Driver DI (BDDI). I also own the B7K, and love it.

Both the BDDI and B7K have some mid scoop to them, but the B7K will give you a lot more tonal versatility via the four band EQ and voicing switches.

Obviously I can't say which you would prefer. For me, the B7K is new(er) and exciting and has that tonal versatility, so I use it more often, but the SansAmp does its thing very well, and I still occasionally gig it. I have never used the B3K, but given that I have 5 band EQ on my bass amp, I think I would be happy with it. The B3K might not have the 4-band EQ, but has the Attack and Grunt switches, which are very cool.

Buy it if you like it - not everyone does. I love mine. I had been wondering about it too, then I went to a TB get-together and saw that TonyP had one on his rig. Tried it and instantly had to have one. Depending on what exactly I want for grit, I use the B3K and various settings on a Tech21 VT Bass Deluxe, separately or in combination. I didn't go with the B7K because with the VT Bass I already had EQ and DI and felt it would be redundant.
