Darkstar

I have heard very good things on here about darkstar p-bass pickups. Yet, I have never actually heard one. Could someone please describe the sound to me, or even better, post sound clips.

Thank you
Darkstars aren't replacement pickups for P basses, per se. They can be used in any number of positions. Here are tons of soundclips for a Lakland bass that uses two of them.

Also, there's a Darkstar forum here, where the inventor/maker of the pickups hangs out.

Enjoy!:)

Have a bass with Darkstars.

Simply, the best passive pickup I've ever played.

High output for passive.
No need to go active. (overkill)
Big, fat, detailed, tone.
Sound great in neck, middle, or bridge position on bass.
Great stuff.

thank You very much, I love the sound of these, now i just need a bass to put them on, haha, maybe a squier vm tele?
No problem, bro. The tone on the Decade is just enormous, isn't it? As far as the Squier goes, there's a TBer who's already done this mod. I saw the thread (with pictures) within the past 2 or 3 weeks.

Ah-ha! Here it is!

I've played a Darkstar'd Skyline Glaub, and it was tone heaven. I'm going to have a DS'd bass soon--probably going to put a DS in my Ibanez Roadstar P-bass copy.
