I had a DJ5 with the J-retro.

I like the Audere better. To me, the J-retro was noisy and finicky, and colored the tone a great deal. I like the Audere much better.

However, there is that pesky curved control plate on the DJ. You can order the J-retro with the plate; I'm not sure about the Audere.

Many people like the J-retro, however. You may want to see which features you want on your preamp before choosing.

i got the jones 4 with retro was great but the audere seems to be more impresive
