And if you can't get that close - choice of material will give you a clue - if they're playing Classic rock or Jazz - most likely to be over 40 and probably born in the 1950s or before!!

If they think Fieldy is God, then they were probably born in 1986 or later!!

I don't know if i would date a fellow bassist-i'm fairly competitive and i think it would drive me crazy. If we're going for the same type of gigs-i think that would be far harder than if well-if she was a classical DB player i think it would be easier since i'm going for the BG and Jazz DB gigs vs. the orchestras.

I have dated: Piano, percussion/oboe, and a vocalist/piano. So far it looks like i have pretty good luck with fellow rhythm section members

My girlfriend is a bassist, though I've never heard her play. She's really shy about it, but used to be pretty good (she's fallen out of practice). The cool part is that we can discuss music, discuss the groove from the same perspective. That, and she can tell me when I suck (hasn't happened yet, though).
