    ditto, only reverse.
however, i haven't listened to howie for a few years. i got tired of him.
i'm glad i can save time with dave...i've been tired of him for decades!
but i'm glad it will cause you auditory tingles, brad!
(as well as being cheaper than ordering a subscription service, buying the hardware, etc.)
  3. Like I said on another board, I thought he went all humanitarian and devoted himself to being an EMT.

Apparently a short stint or publicity stunt. :smug:

Now he's gonna be back to stammering and blathering on endlessly.... thank God for Sirius.

I'm not proud to say that I listened to Stern for a couple years. I got tired of his schtick sometime before Jackie Martling left.

DLR is an interesting choice. It remains to be seen if he can compete with Howard's ratings without becoming just another Howard.

I wonder what Stern's going to do on Sirius. I find him completely vulgar and un-funny when he's uncensored... most of his genius IMO is being vulgar while not straying far from FCC guidelines. But who knows, maybe uncensored Stern will provide the subscriber boost Sirius is praying for. What a country... :rollno:

I sure hope he's taking over Stern's morning spot on K-Rock over here.
  6. He was indeed an EMT for a while. I knew a guy in NYC who is also an EMT and had DLR ride along in his ambulence once :)

I wonder what DLR is going to talk about for four hours a day...Sammy Hagar?

Why did he ever stop singing in the first place?

He was great, he had an awesome voice, and he was a great entertainer. IMO.

On a serious note, your question is indeed important. Successful talk-radio shows work because the listener is more involved than other types of media.

I like Dave, but in the past, we've only seen the snippets, with any bad parts edited out. He's going to be on his own once the show starts.

If he can't come up with some compelling/entertaining listening, he's sunk.

You'll get some leg tonight for sure!!!
Tell us how you do! woo hoo hoo!"

Genius? Genius? He's a peurile dipwad junior-highschooler who used to have a radio show. The most intelligent thing he ever said was, "Show me your boobies."

I'm a Stern fan which, apparently, puts me in the minority here... Anyway, any Stern fan knows that Chaunce Hayden, Yahoo's "source", is a buffoon and a fringe journalist at best. Don't bet on DLR, guys.

Here's my dark horse guess: Chris Booker. Booker's a Stern friend who does afternoons here in NY. He has Stern show members on occassionally and definitely I think he's in the mix.

I've been listening to Howard Stern since I was 11. I'm 19 now and nobody can replace Stern. Not even DLR. Lucky me I baught Sirius satellite radio so I still get to listen to Stern when he goes.
