Double Bass DB PLAYING STYLES?!?

There seem to be several different hand-styles or techniques for playing Db.....with rockabilly I've seen "plucking" and "open hand slapping" sure that's not the proper names for it?!?
Wondered if any sounded similar to electric bass?!?

I would think the technique sounding most similar to electric would be pizz.

Very few DB players are trying to "sound similar to bass guitar." We play a different instrument by choice.

Chris Fitzgerald's amazing video on Right Hand Perspectives should answer any questions you have about right hand pizz in a jazz context. (But not slap or EB sounds).

This video from Chris Mihn Doky (from Scott's Bass Lessons) should give you more insight into an "electric approach" to upright.

Guess there's less styles and ways to play it.....
Maybe less choices and its more straightforward.....
