De Armond Pilot 5 question

So I was in Janesville today at a pawn shop. Just looking around to see what they had. And to my suprise I saw a De Armond Pilot 5 string sitting there.

It was basically brand new, I couldn't even find a scratch on it. The action was nice and low and played beautifully.

It had the 3 band eq and 2 jazz pickups. The finish was a translucent red and looked pretty.

There was no price so I asked the man behind the counter and they had to look around for a bit but came back with $380

This to me seems a bit high as they haven't made them in quite a long time and were being sold for very cheap on close out.

The bass is in great condition however and sounds amazing.

I'm just not sure if the price they are asking is fair or not.

What are your thoughts, also what do you believe it to be worth.

They have it on hold as I said I would come back tomorrow and further discuss it with them.

BTW this bass wouldn't be for me. It would be for a little buddy of mine who's band tunes down to drop A and he really needs to get on a 5.

Thanks

Peace
