Question about the Dean Bass Edge 01,

I just bought it on SamAsh.com, and before I get it on Friday for my concert, I was wondering what you guys think of the sound?

Am I going to be impressed? I like Ska'ish/Jazz'ish'/Punchy sort of sounds, and a deep nice tone would also be good.

I used to own the Edge 1. It has a very punchy sound (not a punchy as a P-bass though) that is good for rock music. It is capable of deep tones as well with the right amp. I think you'll be impressed with the bass once you plug it in.

I saw in another thread that the head of design at Dean recently left, and since then QC has taken a hit. I don't know how true that is since I haven't played any new Deans lately. But I have played many a Dean and own a Dean 8-string, and I have nothing bad at all to say about them, except I think some of them are a little on the ugly side.
