It makes me sad when i look in the RSS feed and the showcase for necks and i see this: gorgeous all-wenge necks, beautiful ziricote fretboards, maccassar ebony, you name it. EXCEPT they have what i consider a travesty of blocks and binding on exotic woods :(

i love warmoth, and i guess serves me right for being picky in the showcase. but still! someone had to sit there and put big ugly vintage blocks into ziricote boards, while face dots are fonky-looking enough.

I hope this post doesnt cross the line, im a HUGE fan of warmoth, and im mid-build with one.
It just seems strange to me

I've not noticed any block inlays in the showcase.
What bothers me is that Warmoth ruins most of their dark fretboards with cream face dots. There is absolutely nothing more hideous than cream dots! I could never own a vintage Fender with clay dots, either. That's just disgusting.

I got my last four necks with no fretboard markers, only dots along the edge. Looks very clean, especially if you have a nice piece of wood. Sure, ordering a custom is more expensive than buying from the showcase. But why not treat yourself to a fancy neck. What are you saving it for...........a plastic hip?????:eyebrow:

It's fine that you don't like them, fortunately Warmoth sells a variety of combinations for the rest of the population as well.

ha of course
im about a week away from ordering my own custom neck

i just find it... disapointing
like "my kids are fed, but those poor africans..."

and line6man +1 on the ew factor of creamface dots
or anydots or inlays
