Debating whether to go Pre Amp/Power Amp...Need help...

If by 'cross wired speakon' you mean a bridged mono cable, yes.

The XLR 'y' splitter will get your signal to both channels of your amp and the 'bridged mono' cable will get you power from both channels of your amp. Or get a +1,-1,+2,-2 splitter and run dual mono.

Or do I just plug the pre into the first channel and used the cross wired speakon from bridged mono? I'm so confused....Please set me straight on this...
I could be wrong but I don't think this would work and MAY cause damage.

To run the XLS bridged, my connections go like this:

Bass >
instrument cable >
preamp >
bayou crafted bridging y-splitter >
XLS 402 (feed both channels) >
bayou crafted speaker cable (use the ch 1 output) >
First GS112 >
normal speaker cable >
2nd GS112

You dont HAVE to use a speakon - speakon cable to the first cab. You CAN use banana plugs to connect to the amp. I CHOOSE to go speakons on both ends, as a failsafe to keep me from fekkin up while setting up & potentially frying something.

BTW, to go dual mono, but you'll cut your output in half.

Just think of both channel as seperate amps.

If you put a 4ohm cab on one channel, itll get 600W.

If you put an 8ohm cab on the second channel, that amp channel will be running at 8ohms, and the cab will get whatever you amp does at 8ohms. (about 300W??)

As long as you understand impedances (sounds like youve got the basics sorted but there's the amp FAQ just in case) just think of channels one and two as different, seperate amps.

Sounds like youre going to bridge anyway. :)
