I was dumped once because the girl defined her version of love, and I disagreed with her. Then as I started questioning it more and more, I wondered if I even knew what love is. Maybe it is because I am a Scrooge, but sometimes I think there is no such thing as love. To put it simply and without much thought though, I just think love is caring deeply for someone and thinking of them before yourself.
Love is coming to TB daily, despite knowing that you'll come across a Poop-Loops post in a good portion of OT threads.
Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, Love is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

love is an inherently spiritual thing, isn't defined by emotions or any situation. Love is there when you care about / appreciate someone despite what they can or can't do for you. People (imo) screw up relationships when they expect to benefit without being prepared to give.

I can;t really describe love, but I know I feel all warm and fuzzy. But tbone has come closest.
Now if me an my ex were like that, we'd probably strill be together. I did the breaking up, I didn't feel supported, or trusted sometimes.
