birchwood casey tru-oil, multiple coats. it's good stuff and looks great. If you go that route, may as well do the whole neck (more coats on the fretboard mind you)! Seriously, the whole neck would look and feel super great with gunstock oil. Only thing is it may not take where you already used super glue, but that may be insignificant.
a few things before you do go the oil route.
1. final sand to 400-600 grit
2. make sure board is naked
3. learn to love flatwounds, ground wounds, or compressed wounds (these are a little rough on an oiled maple board)
