Dennis Bovell- dubmaster

I'm a sucker for dub bass anyway, but I've been on a major Dennis Bovell trip later. He gets more acclaim as a producer and vocalist, I think, but his actual bass playing is fantastic. He has impeccable tone and feel. I fell asleep with his "Mek It Run" album playing on my bluetooth sleep mask last night and had the most fabulous dubtastic dreams. There's surprisingly little footage of him playing bass on the old youtube, but if you can excuse the period correct stage outfit, check this out:



There's a fantastic anthology called The DuBmaster that I need to get on vinyl.

I have the Dub master on CD and its excellent, but there is not that much of Bovell playing bass. Its killer dub anyway.

I'm a idiot, I listened to the CD today and Bovell plays almost all the bass. I'm just blind these days! The album is a Bible of killer reggae grooves.
