Depressing/Tragic movies?

That's a great movie. Two particularly depressing movies off the top of my head:
"Aguirre: The Wrath of God" is a Werner Herzog movie about a group of 16th Century conquistadors searching the Amazon for El Dorado; the "Lost City of Gold." As the search grows longer and the group endures endless hardship, they begin to exhibit signs of insanity.
"Stroszek" is another Herzog film about a man who emigrates from 1970s Berlin to America to pursue a dream, but becomes disillusioned. IIRC, Ian Curtis of Joy Division watched it the night he died and hanged himself shortly after.
Wow, guess that makes it the winner.
SEVEN is quite depressing and dark.....and rainy.
And definitely no happy ending.
A Scanner Darkly is one of the most depressing movies I've seen. Always makes me depressed after I finished.
