Im appalled at these comments! I mean everyone has the right to their own opinion but that's THE Evan Brewer! He's definitely had gigs on a legitimate progressive record label. He's not some bedroom player for sure! OP fwiw I think that song is epic, sadly the others on this forum have probably never heard the rest of that song he's playing which is much slower, not slapped, and beautiful. I dont think "just anyone" can play like that either, the guy can play 2 basses at once. Again, everyone is different so maybe the style of music is not their cup of tea but man I hope people arent hating on his talent. One of my favorite bassists for sure. Here is the whole song.

I do hear some musicality in his writing... and I believe that, if he picks a band that understands his vision, his stuff will sound good in relation. Sure, the treble is annoying, but when I saw Stanley Jordan in St. Lucia, so was the amount of treble he had on his guitar... I see great potential in the young man personally. It's not developed enough for more than a cursory listen currently, but it would be foolish to dismiss him as another, non-discernible, wankerociously, "notey", wank-a-saurus... (Is that a word? )

As a parlour trick? Okay. Not my thing but yeah he put some time into it and a lot of people (non-musicians especially) will no doubt find it impressive. As something with any musical merit? To me there's obviously very little and I would never want to spend the time it would take to be able to perform in that fashion (as that approach doesn't at all line up with my goals as a bass player).
