Devi Ever DUBSTEP pedal!

This is so many levels of awesome -- an on the fly dubstep pedal for guitar and bass. It's a kickstarter right now, but I had to post this as it'll pretty much be a dream come true if it happens. Gonna be $400 bucks though. :(

*Please no flaming on dubstep. :)

If they make this, I'm on it like a fat kid on cake.

I think if they execute it pretty similarly to the mock up, there would be enough control for >90% of the people that want to use it. It might lack a little control for the hardcore crowd, but I don't really see a lot of people using those types of effects for a whole set anyway. Pretty sure most would be running a laptop at that point. For the rest of us, this would kill.

Why? WHy must everyone want dubstep? Its annoying TBH, Very uncool as well. Nothing too musical about it. Except for Skrillex.. you know the whole part BEFORE the dubstep. I just think it ruins a lot of good songs. on the contrary, if i find this for $100 or less, ill buy it xD

Thank you for your constructive post. It was very useful.

The pedal didn't get funded, as you probably didn't see since I doubt you looked at the Kickstarter, not to mention this thread was started in September. So sorry buddy, you won't be able to find one for $100, since none were built.

Thats my point. If it was $400 i wouldnt spend the money. If it was $100 I MIGHT pick one up. But like you said they arnt made. So who cares. Its a pointless pedal though. Almost all dubstep.... All dubstep is made on keyboards and computers. No point in getting a guitarist/bassist on stage to play 3 notes. v.v

interesting viewpoint. if people followed that then there'd be...... really........ NO pedals for bass players. lots of interesting stuff has come from trying to figure out a way to get a sound off of a keyboard or sample onto a guitar or bass. if it's not your thing, so be it. but kinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnda makes you sound like a close minded 'tard douche if you drop big 'ole blanket "IT'S POINTLESS BECAUSE IT'S NOT WHAT I LIKE RARRGHHHHH!!!1!!1!" type statements.

makes yah look SILLY.

but maybe that's your thing. whatever.

i..... have never had much luck with Devi's stuff, but she does some good work with the fuzzes. they just don't sit right with my setup so far. but loads of folks like her stuff. i'd like to see her complete a non-fuzz project like this or the Effector13 stuff to see what it's like.

interesting viewpoint.

"I really don't see the point to dubstep pedals, as it's possible to get wobbles through existing, more precise means."

My point. There really is no point in having a guitar have a Dubstep effect. Like i said all dubstep is mainly made on PC's (frooty loops) or on a keyboard. Even then, you can plug your guitar/bass into the PC and use it like that, but it still seems rather pointless. Honestly Dubstep is just some giant kraze that is (IMO) Stupid. Its hard to dance too, What do you do at the shows? Stand there and jump... c.c Idk I do like some dubstep (back before it was popular) but this whole OMFG DuBST3p Iz B3st FGAtcak!?! Is just stupid. And if you knew how musically stupid most of the people are who listen to it. Just makes it that much more unpleasing. Then again that's just me.

Idk i wouldnt find much use in this pedal, then again im not going for a dubstep sound. There is however a reason why this project was aborted. :hiding:

Anywho, I can find a reason to use my DD-7 and my chorus pedals and even an overdriver, or distortion in all types of music. But a Dubstep pedal is One genre'd... $400 would be an INSANE asking price. Plus like i said, you can get guitar programs and play straight from the PC.

Example:Skrillex vs. Deadmau5 - Kill EVERYBODY & Animal Rights mash up Guitar Cover - YouTube

Now im not bashing devi, It truly is a great idea. If your into that typa thing though. And im pretty sure most guitarist/bassists aren't And at $400 asking price. Thats steep. Hell I wouldnt even pay $200 for a DD-7. So maybe its me just being a money hoarder. BUt caps off to her for the brilliant Idea. I could only see her making a couple of these though. Like a limited run. Plus that way if they are good Value will go up, Demand will go up. And its a win/win.

But for the whole "on the fly" There are amps (like my dads Line6) were you can download tones and plug them into the amp... With a simple Effects changing. You can set the Wah to change the time and maybe even set the Volume to do the drop. And you could always keep your laptop on hand and be able to change it whenever, or how ever you wanted. If you didn't have a laptop, there is customization through the amp as well. Limited but possible.

Just my 2cents.

urm, not to be a doucher, but are you 14 or like 70 and never lived in a metropolitan area? the..... interesting spelling and random caps makes me lean one way but your New Stuff Is STOOPID attitude makes me lean the other.

just because it's mostly done with samples and keyboards now doesn't mean there's not a market for it for live musicians. hell, that usually makes it way more enticing. the Rainger FX wobbler? WANT. dunnnnnnno if you know this, but a lot of people like to take a sound or style that's popular in one form of music and make it work in another. that's.... kinda..... how new music comes about innit? trying new things?

lol. and i'd refrain from dropping the "i was into X before it was cool".

01) it sounds silly
02) people like me that have listened to IDM guru's like Aphex or Squarepusher or Autechre do the same type of stuff that dubstep is...... i wouldn't say STEALING..... but heavily influenced by do it for 20 years or more giggles at it
03) it. sounds. SILLY

also, who cares if people that like a form of music are "musically stupid"? hate to break this to you, but like, 95% of the people that listen to music do it for........ enjoyment. SHOCKING. they could give two tugs of a dead dog's **** (thank you Warren Ellis. looooooooooove youuuuuuuuuu) what's going on musically in there. that's for the geeks and nerds and people that spend loads of time online sitting in music-centric forums to obsess over.

True Story. It's like attempting to explain the internet to your dog. Nothing gained, nothing lost...
