Dexy's Midnight Runners

Hello TalkBass Family!!!
I just searched through some videos from back in da' day. I had almost forgot I had toured with Kevin Rowland and Dexy's Midnight Runners. And, then I came across this video, "Tell Me What She's Like". I was taken back, realizing how good that band actually sounded. Of course, we are supposed to sound good when we rehearsed 10 hours each day for 3 months before the tour that never really happened. Now, I can't tell you what really went on in the business aspect. But, I do remember that 'We' were tight as any tour band should sound. I respect and commend Kevin on his concept of the band during that era of his career. It was truly above and beyond the call of duty. "My Hat's off to You, Kevin Rowland, Billy Davis and Ms. Helen (I forgot her last name, 'sorry'!!!)

How cool! I liked them a lot in the day, but never got to see them live anywhere. Tell us more about the gig.

I loved the "Too Rye Ay" album, and for way more than the one hit wonder.
"Let's Make This Precious", and "Jackie Wilson Said" were incredible songs and still get lots of airplay in my house. I'll bet that was s fun gig.
