DG410C Darkglass Cabinet

I guess this post is more directed at @Darkglass. I recently found out that the Darkglass bass cabinets have been discontinued. I am wondering if they are planning on releasing an updated version of the cabinets soon or are they just not going to make cabinets anymore.

I am looking to get the Mircotube V2 amp head this summer/fall and I really want DG410C to go with it. I really do not want to pay for the DG head and pair it with another brand's cabinet. I love the sound the amp head and cabinet makes together. @Darkglass can you or anyone else shed any light on this issue. Thank you.

where did you learn this? DG cabs arent listed in discontinued at their website

According to the Sweetwater and Guitar Center website, they are both no longer carrying the DG cabs. Furthermore, I have talked with Sweetwater on the phone and they do not have definite answer but they believe that the cabs are being discontinued.

DG makes great products but they have issues with communication around their product line. Part of this is the nature of being a very small company (compared to Mesa, Ampeg, etc.). For example, I was looking for the gig bag for the DG head and couldn’t find it anywhere. I spoke with Doug about this and he informed me they were switching vendors and that they would be available for ordering soon....didn’t happen.

The cabs probably didn’t sell well at all. They were heavy and expensive...on top of that they didn’t sound any better than similarly priced cabs.

They need to find a way of making a light weight cabs that are priced better in the market. If not, I doubt they will be competitive and will lose money....not a good business model.

Well that is sad. I hope they can get their stuff together. I want to get the new Alpha-Omega 900. I guess I will pair it with a Mesa cab.

They have apparently changed location of manufacturer, but will be available again although the date of availability is not determined. There are units still kicking around on Reverb.
