DI to use with VT Bass

Hi all, I've been considering getting a DI recently but know pretty much nothing about them. I'm looking for something that won't be overwhelmed by the VT Bass I use - I've seen a few posts suggesting that a passive DI would be the best way to go. I've seen the Countryman type 85 and the Radial JDI mentioned a few times in combination with the VT Bass, would either of these be a good way to go?

P.S. I did try a search, but "VT bass and DI" doesn't work so well!

You could wait a few months and pick up the newly-announced VT Bass Deluxe (or PVTBDI or whatever it will be called) that is a programmable VT Bass + DI + other features.

Or if you already have a VT, there's a mod that will allow it to function like a DI - search the effects forum for that thread.

I'm using the Countryman 85... sounds pretty good to me. I miss my SVT but load time and effort is about 10% of what it used to be.

I use a Palmer PAN 01. The best DI-Box out there for a small buck, IMO.

i mic an svt or b-15 with the vt

but i've used it with a type 85 and it was great. when the deluxe comes out, i will probably use it as a di unless i still decide to mic.
