I have a pedal board, with passive DI, 1/4" output goes to the amp.
The DI has an XLR out too, and I have the Scarlett Solo interface (one XLR, one 1/4"), on a PC 10 meters away.
I'm thinking of taking the XLR output from the DI to go to the Scarlett Solo, but using the 1/4" input (I already use the XLR input on the Scarlett for a mic).
Do I just need an XLR to 1/4" cable? Is there anything to be aware of regarding signals? The Scarlett let's you indicate whether the signal on the 1/4" input is Line level or Instrument level - will it be Line level after the pedal board (and DI, even tho it's passive)?
An alternative is to split the 1/4" coming out of the DI (before going to the amp), and just use a normal 1/4" <-> 1/4" cable, again into the 1/4" input on the Scarlett.
Have I missed anything? and/or what would you recommend?
