I just got this today after trying it out at the store for about an hour. I was hooked from the first second.
I took it home and noticed that I have to have the volume at 100% to match my clean signal.
I am basically going from the bass (Spector NS-2) to a volume pedal, to the Comp and out. I usually use a lot more effects but this is the chain that I've tested it out at home.

While at the store, the volume at 60% gave me a substantial volume boost whereas at home, no such thing. I have to be at 100% or else I lose volume.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

I would use the volume pedal after the compressor anyway. That way you can set your bass's volume and the Diamond to get the squash you want, then use the volume pedal to control your overall volume.

Otherwise, the amount of compression varies with the volume pedal setting.
