Oh yeah. 2 years after I bought it. Was a 78 Fender Musicmaster. Didn't think twice about it either wanted a long scale bass.

Did anyone sell their first ever bass?

I sold my first bass ( Westone The Rail) and got a Rickenbacker 4001. I just bought it back some days ago for nostalgic reasons, but I actually think it's a pretty cool bass. 
Yeah, I sold my first bass, my first guitar, first amps, you name it. They never held any sentimental value for me.
