Did someone ever sand a rickenbacker neck ?

salut all

I like my 4003
I like the neck size

On all my fender I have a sanded neck, never felt any better necks.
Find the 4003 neck a little sticky .
I WANT TO SAND IT.
Did someone ever do the same thing ?

I REALLY don't care about the resale value. I like dings and custom things so I don't care to keep basses pristine looking new

My 4003 has the fattest neck of any bass I own, I’ve been meaning to give it a thorough sanding to remove not just the finish but a good bit of wood as well. Will probably apply a shellac finish with black coloring - won’t be shiny like the current jetglo but I think it will look good and shellac has a nice feel (violin finish). No concern about resale value, I’ve never sold a bass and don’t intend to.
