But this is exactly my point - so the only reason to have settled on that username is because you are a big Scrabble player and as you say - this is hardly something to give you "street cred"!!

Street cred on Talkbass. What a concept.
Bruce give up. I know it's pointless for me to ask you to give up the scrabble dream, but so is your pursuit to convince us that the Qintar was born from a scrabble board.
Additionally, as much as I am humbled by a comparison to the Qintar, I am fearful of a direct comparison to the Wild Eagle. I have read the posts, and I have seen the shreds of what remains of the Qintar's TB legacy, and as a poster of some crazy stories myself, I know that the stories that wind up in the posts are just a fraction of the the stories of real life. With this being true, I am simply in awe of the great Qintar. I also recognize that building a fence takes a great deal of work. I could never see something like that through. With my power-tool prowess I can only thank my lucky stars that I'm not missing any fingers or limbs. To then apply that lack of skill to build a fence, only tells me that the Qintar is a man of great stature, far more skilled than myself. I have also read about the Wild Eagle's merciless pursuit of justice in the depths of wild Texas, and again, I'm only left to conclude that the Qintar is obviously one of the long lost kung fu masters.
I'm happy that people appreciate my posts, but please don't make this a Maki vs. the Qintar thread. There's room for all of us to exist and thrive in the shadow of his greatness.

Well - 2 things
Firstly - nobody has heard of him in 2000 - join date for "The Qintar" - also surely it would make more sense to call yourself Samir rather than "The" ..?
The inclusion of the definite article means that it clearly refers to the unit of currency - but as I said that is no longer used today, but its name is referred to, in every Scrabble dictionary and website as a high score tactic!

Going back and reading through his old posts -vs- being here when they were written is two different things, imo.
How is it any different. Especially if you dont participate in either. Reading something from 5 minutes ago is still going to be exactly the same reading it in 5 years time.
