Did you guys see this??? Behringer Meatball...

I’m intrigued, and this pedal always makes me nostalgic. That said, Behringer has really missed on the actual execution of some of these clones.

The Lovetone MB was my holy grail filter when I started playing bass and got interested in effects. But at that point, my whole rig probably cost less than what a rare/used Meatball did. By the time I was in a position to throw down $700+ on an effects pedal if I really wanted to, I had stepped away from stomp boxes and never revisited the idea.

There are a couple other companies making clones of the MB that I would probably opt for if I were going to go down that road, to be honest.

Quick update:

The unit is large! Larger than the HX Stomp. Build quality looks decent, the knobs flex quite a bit, though. Pots have plastic shafts.
Paint job is good, but you see finger prints quite clearly. Not sure how scratch resistant the paint is.
The sound is nice, but not all settings seem to work for bass, I just fiddled around with it a bit and some were much too trebly for me.
It is crazy versatile, though. I haven't experienced noise, except some very faint switching noises when you use the switches for trigger, filter or modes.

I have read from many that the Meatball inherently might have too many controls and that dialing in a sweet tone can be very finicky, just due to the nature of the beast. I, too, have wanted to try one, forever. But it would be a total toy for me as my gigging rig doesn't need a filter, at all. This might be the ticket to have in the collection just to have!

I think some rubber o-rings under the pots might keep the flex down as well as give some good resistance behind the turning of the pots so you don't accidentally tweak a killer sound.

I am seriously considering one of these. I'm not about to pay the price for an original Meatball or one of its still-too-expensive clones.

I've been underwhelmed by demos of the Mu-Tron III and Moogerfooger LPF clones, but this one seems promising. And at $119 new, I'd say it's worth a shot!
