Diehard Jack Casady Fans: SX Jazz Bass?

A friend of mine and I are big Jack Casady fans. We've already got a darkstarred Starfire between us so now we wanted to take a shot at his 66-67 modded jazzbass sound. Only problem was we were somewhat short on cash... SX time! We got one of the sunburst jazzes and went to work.

Here's our take:

The controls are simple; volume for each pickup and a master tone.
Through an old traynor tube head and a 1x12 cab we can get really really close to that "Takes Off" sound. I'll see if I can get him to record some soundclips for you guys and maybe some more pictures.

I don't think it did. We just did it this way because it was the easiest way to get all the knobs in there. Thought it looks pretty cool too
