Differences between Markbass CMD 121p IV and V

Does anyone know what the differences are between the Markbass CMD 121P IV and the CMD 121P V combos?


Visually they look identical, the control panel is the same, and I can't find any information explaining the differences.

the first has Little Mark IV, the second has the 58R. no, they don't look identical, but sound the same.

the 58R has send/return and DI out on the front (on the top) and basically that's it.

Wow! It turns out I've bought a second-hand CMD 121P IV (it hasn't arrived yet), and in the photos the control panel is the same as the Version V. I'm not sure whether the last units of the Version IV already came with this panel, or if the seller listed it as a Version IV when it's actually a Version V.

Yep, that's a combo IV. Only functional difference is D.I. access is on rear as well as effects loop. I actually prefer the IV aesthetically. Not that it matters. I own the predecessor to the IV.

I might be mistaken, but the fact that the head is a Little Mark IV doesn't necessarily mean that the CMD 121P is the V4 version, right?

the version of the combo means the revision of the head, no changes to the cab.

one theoretically could buy a v4 and replace a combo head v4 with a newer or older one (they're interchangeable), but the seller would mention this.

I'd guess a wrong photo or description. anyway, you're good with iv or v. just wait it to arrive and don't worry.

p.s. I have the IV as a separate head and bought it while 5 was already around. my reasoning is that I prefer to use an angled jack (not relevant for the combo, I believe), I liked the design better and it was a bit cheaper.

for a combo use having the DI on the top is something welcome tho, but not that a big deal. you're still plugging the power in the back after all. once in a while you'll need to press the ground lift or post/pre, but nothing really that impossible with an old design.

other than this there's no difference.

The LittleMark IV is a handsome amp, IMHO.
