Differences between old PV century 120 and 200 series?

Anyone know the differnces between the old Peavey Century heads? Theres a 120 series and a 200 series, both are 100w both seem to have the same control scheme etc

Im considering adding a cheap one to the wall of doom mostly used with baritone guitars

I forgot I had some Century schematics. There's a preamp section called the Century A-series (dunno if there was a B-series), but there's a power amp schematic titled"120 Module, 60 watt power amp" and another power amp schematic labeled "120 or 200 Series Module, 100 watt power amp"

My guess from those two titles: they had a Century 120 that was 60 watts. then they upped it to 100 watts but still called it a Century 120, but then changed the name to Century 200.

I must have an "early" Peavey Century 120 Series. It only has two output transistors as opposed to four on the later ones. Back panel says 60 Watts into 8 ohms instead of the usual four ohm rating. Can this version of the Century even run a four ohm load.....Thanks!

I realize this is an old post and an even older thread, but I was considering buying one of these amps and came across the manual for what may be your "early" model. The image of the back panel shows the two output transistors where the manual for the "later" version clearly shows four. I've attached the manual in case you're interested. It appears that it can run a four ohm load since it provides power ratings for both 8 and 4 ohm loads at both 1% and 5% THD. It also states that one ohm and two ohm loads are not recommended.

Just out of curiosity, does your "early" 120 have "volume" and "presence" controls on the front panel or are these "gain" and "master gain" as I've seen on others? All the photos I've seen of these amps seem to show the 2-transistor versions have "volume" and "presence" controls and the speaker outputs are labelled 60 W @ 8 ohms while the 4-transistor versions all have "gain" and "master gain" controls with speaker outputs labelled 100 W @ 4 ohms.

Sorry for the delay answering your question. Mine has. Volume and Presence. Thanks for your post.
Thanks for the manual as well. Never saw this one. Think I saw the "B" one.....4 power transistors.
