Difficulties with iRig

Has anyone had issues with electrical noise coming from their amp while running through an iRig? I’m brand new at this iRig thing, but I’d like to think I’m somewhat tech savvy. I’m plugged into it from my bass, then into my iPad, then into my amp. I can’t seem to get rid of the loud electrical “buzz” and I’ve tried everything I know...which isn’t much.
ANY HELP will be greatly appreciated and, “onward through the fog”...

How is your iPad powered? Try it on batteries only if powering it externally.
