After recording some stuff at my friend's house, we went to listen to some stuff on a four track digital recorder. There was a strange ringing sound that would play throughout. I'm not too knowledgable about recording equipment and was hoping someone could help me with this.

Really sounds the recorder is damaged. Is it happening on that one particular recording?
