Digitech bass whammy

yeah i'm selling off my XP100 for what i bought it for, due to the demand being pretty high and me never really using it at all. same with a few other pedals. only really bought it for tool covers my band did, and some solos for school credit.

I am selling my bass whammy. This is not because I am unhappy with it, I just am not using it enough to justify what I could sell it for. I am recording a demo of it tonight, quick and dirty, but I will post it as soon as I can. The only caveat is that it is in need of a recalibration. It still tracks beautifully, but it does not begin sweeping until I am halfway between toe up and toe down. Please PM with an offer if you are interested, I would prefer not to put it on eBay, but I will if I don't get any good offers here.

OK, I finished the demo of the Bass Whammy. Check it out here, with some explanations: Link Removed

nothing, i repeat nothing beats the original whammy

the whammy II and the bass whammy are probably the worst whammy's, they are known to have a dodgy chip, controlled by that pointelss input gain knob

if i was to buy a whammy again, id look for a original or the xp100

Um bass whammy the worst whammy? So is it why it's over priced on ebay nowadays? I would have to say in all the catergories like tracking, keep the low end, etc. the bass whammy takes the gold.

Completely agreed on the low-end tracking. If you listen to the demo I posted above, you can hear the bass whammy track a low A (5string) up an octave perfectly, and then a standard A down an octave. I'd love to hear the XP100 or WH-1 do that.

I bought one 8 years ago for $75, and took it back because I didn't like it, even though I knew it was kind of rare. As a person with a brain I regret that, but as a musician I knew I didn't like it, so why keep it.

Well it's probably because of one's taste in music. I mean if you like those cookie-cutter bands where that effect has absolutely no use in- then why have it right?

Even if not, there's still the evident sound of the digitalness of the Whammy. The fact that there are always going to be some tracking issues, even though they are reduced a lot of the Bass Whammy version.

However for what it does, it's still tops, and that's where there is such a demand for them.

I got my bass whammy when they rolled for around $300, and I've been using it steadily for about the last three years. I did notice it was a harsh Oct Up if you put it first in the signal path, but when I started putting it AFTER my Fuzzes, etc, it started to sound cleaner and more interesting. Putting it before other effects just swamps them out, like fuzzes and distortions. Whammy plus Woolly mammoth is a great heavy/tight combination by the way! :p

Well, I use the B:assmaster with it, and when you run the Oct Down in FRONT of the fuzz, it pushes the input stage of the pedal too hard and takes out all responsiveness. When I run the Whammy afterwards, the Oct Down actually does it's job, tracks completely fine, and gives me a SERIOUS low boost, no problems with the Input level or anything. You guys just don't know how to wrangle your effects :P Experimentation is the key!
