Digitech bass whammy

Ok, cool. What about the whammy 4, I know it tracks bad from the a string down (e<a>dg) and stuff, but I also heard that it tracks worse on a passive than an active. I just want to check up on this stuff before I pull the tringer on one this coming tuesday.

this too is false lol, i owned the wH-4 also, and it tracked just as nicely, not as well as the bass whammy, but it was pretty decent.

Personally, I think the whammy's "tracking issues" give it a little bit of its character. I own a WH4 and it wouldn't really be an effect to me if it was absolutely perfect. I mean, if it was perfect, couldn't I just play cords or slides to do the same thing?

On the famous "Disposition" by Tool, the Bass whammy is giving some interesting garbly sounds that wouldn't happen if the thing tracked perfectly. It's digital...it's going to sound digital.

That all being said, I wish I could get a bass whammy. Simply for the longer sweep that everyone talks about and the 5th up/1 up harmony setting. If digitech would re-release it, they would be geniuses...

Seriously...make a whammy V with the length of sweep as an old Morley Power wah, all the settings of the current whammy, a few more, and the stupid 5th/1 setting. Charge $250-$300 bucks for it and call it a day.

Considering that someone over at Digitech has to be seing the bass whammy's going for $500-$750, this has got to be a no brainer.

The problem is that even though the Bass Whammy price is so overinflated, the demand probably still isn't worth the cost to produce another one. The reason for the high demand is because they are so rare. Bassists, especially those in desire of a Bass Whammy are still a small percentage of total musicians. The rarity of a Bass Whammy gives the impression that there is a huge demand for them, but that's largely due to the very small supply of them. The best bet is to hope for a Whammy V sometimes down the road and hope for the 5th/Oct setting to be on it.

i completely agree that if digitech did this they would be genii
it would be a dream come true, i saw on a blog a while ago that behringer are planning to make their own version, it would be cool, its obviously not gonna half as good but for the time being id say it might do the job
But hopefully digitech re-issue the bass whammy, its an unbelievable pedal
