Digitech BSW users unite!

MusiciansFriend and the effects manufacturers themselves never seem to offer good sound clips. Not just because they don't always sound as good as in real life, but because the styles don't mix up. I've heard slap used to demo a distortion pedal. The BSW Envelope Filter sound clip should be FUNK. Slappin, fingerin or something. It's kinda of rock-ish. Whatever, the point is that it sounds awesome in real life.

+1 on the sound clips. Post whatever you got.

Ok here's a coupla settings from my notes. I just tweaked these further today. I found out that SENS set to 4:00 gives me a better effect.

Notes: These effects are best tested with bass lines that don't have alot of notes and played on higher octaves. I was testing these with Peter Gunn and the Smoke on the Water riff both played @ D. You'll have to figure out the right hand strike technique to really bring them out. It's kinda hard to describe (or maybe I just don't know what term to use)

For a "talking" sound

Voice setting 5
SENS 4:00
CONT 12:00
RANGE 10:00

Voice setting 6
SENS 4:00
CONT 7:00
RANGE 2:00

For a laser like sound that blends with the note being played

V-7
S-4:00
C-12:00
R-2:00

My fave funk wah setting

V-1
S-12:00
C-3:00
R-12:00

My bass is an SX Jazz. Knobs: Neck 75%, bridge 50%, tone 50%. Amp bass setting @ 12:00

Same for me. Just got the pedal yesterday and I'm TOTALLY blown away. Every time you tweak the pedal to get a different sound, it sounds awesome. If you tweak the Control, you can tweak the Sens or Range to make it sound perfect. I'll post some sound clips when I get home from class this afternoon. I need to somewhere to host the clips. If someone can provide a good hosting site, I'll upload as many as I can.

Just registered at SoundClick and I think the only clips available are the Lo-Fi ones, but [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Keep in mind, they sound WAY better when not recorded through a crappy sound card and with a serious amp powering the effects. Once you get power behind the synth and filter effects, they sound WAY better.

Also, I was constantly changing settings to give people an idea of what you can do. The playing sucks, but I was trying to show off the effect pedal. :bassist:

Digidelay is really nice. If you wanted to use other effects with it, it would be really hard to do with the filter and synth effects since they're just so dynamic.

P.S. - Anybody like those clips? First time TBers have ever heard me play.

Wow! If something powered by 9 volts DC and very low amperage starts giving off fumes I wanna see what kind of electronics they have in there that can get so much gain. I will also sue the crap out of the firm that makes such a dangerous gadget.

Normally, the only thing that should get hot is the wall wart.

Hey Ryst, I just got a Boss Chorus last night. It sounds alright with the BSW I guess. But you gotta find a tune to use it with. Or you can write your own.
