It's ok. People get obsessive over gear. Sadly, we all should spend this sort of time practicing rather than typing or obsessing over gear. If I spent as much time with directed practice that was focused rather than noodling or screwing around on the web, I'd be a monster.

Oh, back on topic - I have an Akai UniBass. Is the Whammy octave/fifth effect similar to the UniBass? Or is it something different?

Thanks for that. I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on how to properly spend our time. I'm going to go practice now. Take care.

P.S. This is literally the ONLY forum I've ever used, so I have no clue about what normal is, thanks for letting me know. I think I'll just avoid other forums. One is more than enough abuse for me. :)

They probably assumed that they'd have theirs by now and jumped the gun a bit.
That could also just mean that sweet-ass box of B-whamz arrives on their doorstep first thing tomorrow morning

So, two things:

1. We'll need a sticky for when these start showing up and people want to show off. A quadrillion "NPD: B-whamz!" threads with two replies each is super fun, but I think it makes infinitely more sense to just have the sticky.

2. Who else is down to do a signed BW pic thing for DTR? When/if you post a picture of yours, have a "thanks DigiTechRep" note. It's classy, and I think we owe him that much.

Hi guys, I just want to say, and I really am not wanting to cause anyone any offense here, but this has been one of the best threads i've ever read.

I reaaaaaallly want a BWhammy but havent got the cash for one (and wont for the forseeable future) but I have enjoyed getting caught up in the excitement and the drama. Sometimes it feels like I've got one on the way.

But anyway this thread is better than a TV thriller. the building tension, the crushing disappointment, the savage infighting. Great thread guys. I really am being genuine by the way. I check in everyday to see if they've arrived. Cant wait to see and more importantly hear your reviews! (and also if anyone take pity on a poor little whammy-less bass player and wants to send one my way i wont say no.... :))

Good luck with the deliveries and I have no doubt that its gonna be incredible

Can't wait any longer. Still no eta from SW so I canceled my preorder and got one from Total Music Source in FL. It will be on my board by Tues at the latest. Same price, decent store. I felt a bit bad about pulling it from SW, since it wasn't really their fault and they've been really nice and responsive about it, but I can't really see a good reason to wait.

I'm sticking with SW. There's something to say about those of us who preordered from them months ago and have waited ever since, rather than snatching one up on fleabay from music stores who couldn't be bothered to sell it themselves.

I wonder if there's a reason why all these eBay-based/friendly stores got theirs from the distributor before a big place like Sweetwater with confirmed preorders did. Are the distributor and eBay somehow in cahoots? Maybe.

Mine is here, shipped last night from JRR Shop, but they screwed up and put my home address for shipping. Fed Ex tried to deliver it, but I was at work. ARRGGHH! But, going to pick it up at the depot tonight. Finally, the wait is over! Hope the SW guys get theirs out to all of you soon. It's been too long!!
