Okay so I'm considering building a Warmoth PJ bass at some point in the future when I have the funds for it, and am looking at what PJ pickups would be best to put in it.

I've narrowed it down to the DiMarzio DP126 set and the Aguilar 4PJ-HC set.

I play in a heavy alternative rock band (The Wrong Number if you wanna check us out on Spotify/Apple Music/Instagram/Whatever) and I play a pretty "lead bass" style on some songs with melodies and solos. I use overdrive and fuzz a lot, but I want a clean tone that is gritty and bright but still has a fat low end. The EMG GZR pickups would supposedly be great for this but given the fact I would want it wired volume/blend/tone, the whole solderless thing would be more a hassle than anything.

Do any of you guys have experience with either of these pickups? and if so what would you recommend?
