Dimarzio ultra jazz low output

I know what you mean. I just took them out about an hour ago.
I had them for about 7 months and they gave me nothing but trouble every step of the way:
-The output for the D and G strings was considerably lower than that for the E and A strings.
-The poles buzzed every time I came near them, even after I put electrical tape over them.
-The pickups themselves hummed (stopped only by touching a metal part of the bass) even after I shielded them.
-The overall tone wasn't that great.
