Dingwall Combustion and regular gigbag?

cool, thanks! the scale of the bass is 37-34" because of the fanned fretboard... I just found one in musiciansfriend.com that has a 38" length. I wonder if this will suffice!

You can't look at scale length...

It's overall length from tip of headstock to the base...

Longest bag I have in my inventory is 49" internal length.

Hi all, just wondering if anybody has tried to fit a Dingwall Combustion in a regular gig bag? Thanx for the input!:bassist:

I use a Carvin gig bag for both of my ABII-5's. Highly recommended. Firm yet heavily padded. Huge amounts of storage too.

I can put a guitar stand in the top zippered pouch. I could fit my Streamliner 900 in the large pouch if I took off the rubber feet.

Make that 45.75".

Considering what smallmouth says, ur 49" gig bag should do the trick right?

Hey man, where'd u get that carvin gig bag?

Any gigbag that will fit a 35" 5-string will fit a Combustion as well...mine currently travels in a Spector gig bag, fits perfectly ;)

I got an ABZ that I use a Mono M80 with and its been safe and snug up till this point. Hope that helps!

Thnx a lot guys! I think I'll save a little bit more and get a Canadian made Dingwall for my first buy, but it's good to know they will fit regular (large) gig bags. Much appreciated!

Any gig bag that will fit a 4-string Jazz will fit a Combustion. The Combustion is physically more compact than a J.

Wow, there's some misconceptions regarding the Dingwall basses based purely on speculation, who would've thought that a Combustion is more compact than a Jazz? I actually didn't get the Combustion because I thought that it might not be comfortable enough for my duties of lead singer/bassist because I tend to jump and dance a lot on stage and I favour compact basses because of that.

Sadly, I was afraid a 37-34" scale bass would interfere in some way with my performance, and since I can't try out Dingwalls here in Mexico (nobody seems to own one) I chose a Spector in the last minute, only because of this concern. Not that Spectors aren't good enough, I love'em, but I've wanted a Dingwall bass ever since I started playing and saw that BP magazine famous "ultimate 5 string shootout" 14 years ago. Hopefully I won't have to wait that long to finally get my hands on a Dingwall.

And nope, I can't return the Spector. It's on its way to Mexico by now...

Thnx for ur input Sheldon and everybody else!
