The guys over at session are great. I ordered my Super P from them.
That SJ is one of the older models with the slim Super Fatty pickups. I remember playing that one back in 2014-15 when I went to Frankfurt to check out some Dingwalls
I have a bass, of a very similar spec, on order and it's not costing me that much.
The asking price basically seems like as-new order price, with the seller hoping someone is willing to pay full price to avoid the queue. I can see the logic, but I'm not tempted.
Well, the combustion for 650 or a Z-Clone for 550... Your call.
Saw that Z clone..... brutal but inevitable with everything. Those with half a brain can sort out the difference.
If your paying under $1k for a Z .... it is too good to be true.
I love my Dingwall, I really do..but..this neck looks so much better on it! I waited 1.3 years for this neck. The Fender 'Custom Shop' would not make it for me. Yes, Jackson officially made this neck and Fender bought Jackson. They have all the diagrams and whatnot, so its nothing new from scratch to make this neck but they turned me down. So I told them I would go to the Chinese because the Chinese are experts in replicating things, and that's exactly what I did, but its going on a Jackson of mine that's at the painters.

Not something you would expect to see, eh? Could be startling for most.. I would never hack into my Dingwall..like that.

I was gearing up to warn you about repositioning your bridge hardware, etc. Almost missed that "gotcha" at the end...
Looks similar to how I set my Z3, I rarely do the "arc" that Sheldon suggests, because my action is extremely low, so the E need to be slightly higher than the A, D and G, and the B also slightly higher than the E, so the result makes it look more like a "hill" rather than an arc
Those are my measurements on my Z3,
Sorry it's not an AB, and it's in metric system but feel free to translate those,
(All measurements taken in playing position with the bass perfectly tuned)
Neck curvature: 0,25mm
Action at 12th fret:
G= 1,25mm (I like my G exceptionally low for slapping and tapping)
D= 1,50mm
A= 1,60mm
E= 1,80mm
B= 2 mm
It really is a nice constant hill for me, I don't follow the radius of the fingerboard for the thicker strings because of how they vibrate, but that's just my personal preference, and I set all my basses around the same, they're a joy to play and buzz just enough when attacked to sound really nice, doesn't buzz if played smoothly
My LeFay is even around 0,25mm lower than all these numbers respectively! But I believe the radius is much flatter on that one as well. The difference in comfort isn't that shocking even though it is easier to play, it doesn't sound as impressive.
PS: If in another life where I play with a pick (which I almost don't), I would keep the neck curvature of 0,25mm, and raise the saddles for about 0,50mm each respectively. Or add 0,25mm of curvature instead, maybe that could work nice too

Would someone be able to enlighten me with regards to these calculations below? Yes, I can plug numbers into something that yields a final output number, but in the real world, what would you expect the real feel and play-ability would be on the bass that reflects the BEAD vs my Combustion? I know some of you are experts at this sort of thing.
Well, I've decided to order a 5 string PJ. Now I just have to nail down a color. May just go traditional with a 3t sunburst or solid color. Or maybe look into a unique burst combo. Decisions decisions...
