Dingwall Owners Club

I'm sensing an opportunity here.

Since Nolly is no longer touring with Periphery, Sheldon is going to need a new signature model. And Burning Skies star is rising, I'm smelling a BS Combustion. Well, that's not an attractive name, but if you can get a paint scheme like his Z, it will fly off the shelves......:roflmao:

This...would be a paradigm shift. ;) Sheldon and I would have to have a different agreement. The one on the books right now is that the Rastaburst is a one off exclusive and that he won't make another for anyone else. ; ) It would be fun to do, but my name won't sell him any basses. I'l be happy with my position as unofficial Dingwall endorser and Johnny Appleseed of Dingwall basses.

For those of you who know, which is the standard pick up wiring on an AB without s/p switches? That is, the wiring of the individual pickups?

This probably depends upon the year? I know the original AB's were FD3's in parallel, but that was before we all got fussy and Sheldon had to do the 4L upgrade to the pickups. My original AB-1 was parallel coil.

I'd certainly take a line of cool colors, reverse bursts or funky metallics/sparkles.

We should make basses fun again. ;) I generally don't do black, white or natural.

Enough with spreading the Dingwall word....:D
I remember when it was just extremely difficult to find a used Dingwall at an affordable price ten years ago. Now, the secret is out, a handful of companies are making fanned frets, which only drives people to go back and look for the real thing.

See? I'm doing my Un-job well.

In all seriousness, they're not for everyone... so when I discuss with tire kickers I try to provide a realistic scenario and discuss what I feel are positives and some of the feedback that I've heard from others that didn't 'take' to the instruments and why.

On a 2017 bass. :)

Aren't they passive with the 4-way switch still? If so, neck, parallel, series and bridge positions.

If anything, my experience is the opposite. It is much more difficult for me to find well-priced Dingwalls these days. The wait list and increased price tag are both good news for Dingwall though.

I'm not talking about the combinations, but rather the pickups' internal wiring. :)

I'm sorry, USA Customs, but Alnus Rubra and Acer Saccharum are not animal products. ha ha ha - I say after my Dingwalls were held for 2 days in customs due to "animal products".
These just don't look like animals to me.

What type of animals do you think these are? Acer & Alnus, come here! That's a good bass...

Every time I see one of the new blue NG-2s it makes me sad...Sheldon and Co really knocked that color out of the park! I like mine, but the matte blue is a serious upgrade.

I have to agree. I liked the original blue, but the new 2017 blue is really sharp; stunning, IMO.

Oh yeah, that series pups in parallel is so cool! Not so saturated, or loud, as all in series, but crisp and defined. Focused. Another great flavor, like the solo'd P but not as spanky on the high end. Super range with the hybrid tone, and some cool stuff happening with the volume knob.

Does the NG do passive?

The automotive colors are so cool. As beautiful as the stained woods and premium figured tops are, the solid colors hold their own. Tough choices!

What is the weight range on the NG's?

The NG does do passive with a toggle but no tone controlggm

......lol. So the above made me laugh. I apparently started a reply and the. Zonked out..... ggm musta been my finger falling. Asleep on the button. I think that was yesterday. Oops
How about we call it the Rastabustion?

The RB-3?
