Dingwall Z3 mod to 6-way switch: Which pickup combo for 6th position?

Interesting - I see lots of votes for Middle solo.
Other than nismaniac, has anybody tried middle solo on a long scale?
I am wondering if all of the votes for Middle solo are from personal experience being happy with it, or from personal experience wishing they had it without having heard it.
It is quite simple to swap bridge and middle or neck and middle in the wiring just to test it out, so I will give it a try to see how I like it.
So awesome that all it takes is a screwdriver and about 10 minutes!

Yep. Middle soloed is the setting I use most often on the DBird: if I’m using dirt, ESPECIALLY if I’m using a lot of it, it’s likely in that position.

Yes, it's totally worth having it in a pro's hands, the turn around time was quick, the price was fair and the work was impeccable. I highly recommend @maurilio! I immediately sent him another bass of mine right when I got the Dingwall back.

I'd happily send him business, but the whole different-continent thing gets in the way. I just figured out the necessary wiring for the 6-way I want (after reverse engineering the DBird switch setup for clues), so I'm off to buy a terminal block and make it up myself once stewmac can send me the 6-way.

I might put up pictures of the wiring I figured out so other folks who prefer the challenge can do it.

This is what (after a surprising amount of fiddling about) I figured out the d-bird 3x switch looked like.

And if you want something with the 6 ways you can write it like this, with the extra fiddle required for middle series shown at the bottom.

I will at some point draw these up nicely.
