DIRTY 75 P...would ya???

I think that if it was mine i would put two matching P bass knobs for the original controls and a jazz bass knob for the Jazz pickup!
There is something not right about the 3 knobs not matching for the moment and i think it would look kinda cool with a jazz knob!

Yeah, the problem with the knobs is kinda weird and was bugging me. The post for one of the pots is snapped in half vertically, so it was hard to find a knob that fit on there right. The chrome ones off my Jazz bass didn't slide on straight and looked worse. I had a hard enough time trying to match them all up, but I think I got pretty close :hmm:

Very nice looking bass! The headstock looks much better without the extra string tree.

Thanks! Yeah, first thing I did was take it off. No difference either in action or tone or anything...not sure whose bright idea that was to drill that in there...:p

So, how many are there? i mean, old beat up Precision bassses? what are the chances of running into one like this? I'm sure lots of bass players have them, but how many of these basses are just sitting in someone's attic unplayed?

They're out there, man. Just gotta know what you're lookin for and be patient. I don't know how it is in Argentina, but if you sit around on Ebay or Craigslist long enough, you'll find what you're looking for. Then it's just luck that the sale actually goes through.

I don't think many of these basses actually came to Argentina, though there are a few... but of course a lot more expensive because they are imports.

I've been following this thread with interest because I have kind of the same thing. There is a thread here

The real joy is that I just do not have to look after it. At all. Ever.

That wear and tear looks great! Especially on the back. Wow! What did you have to do to it to get it put together? Or was it all like that when you got it?

That bass actually reminds me of my 1962 - creepy :ninja:
